Song Writing and Performance -Week 10- Harmony: Minor Keys, Secondary Dominants Journal

Week 10 -Blog

Date 27th May

During our class, we discussed “minor key in areas of harmony”1. We looked at diatonic chords which included 7th as well. We then reviewed chord progressions in minor as we have already mention chord progressions in major keys. To end the class we looked at secondary dominants chords and how they are incorporated in famous songs such as “Stand by me” by Oasis 2.

In our discussion topic today we had to write either a “Metaphor, Simile or a Symbolism” 3. An example I came up with is “your like an avocado your soft but your heart is a stone” this is a simile.
